For this lesson students will use marbles in a shoe box to create colourful abstract artwork. This is appropriate for kindergarten to grade two.
Materials;
- Tempera Paint
- Tray for Paint
- White paper
- Shoe box
- Different sized marbles
Step one: place white paper in the bottom of a shoebox.
Step two: dip marbles in a colour of paint. Place marble in the box and roll around the box to make the marble move.
Step three: repeat with different colours of paint, different amounts of paint, and different sizes of marbles.
Step four: walk around and discuss with students the different ways they're creating their artwork and why they're making the choices they are making.
